About our farm

Sprout is located in the lovely countryside of Graham, NC.  We are about 10 minutes from the town of Graham and 5 minutes away from Saxapahaw, right on Highway 87.  Our farm sits up on a hill- you can see the blue barn from the road, with our pastures extending to the roadside, and our two rescue donkeys- Clyde and Rachel- lounging under the oaks.

Sprout is the manifestation of a dream of owner Ginny Boyer and her good friend and farm director Montana Keller.  It is funded by Natural Capital Investment which is part of the North Carolina Conservation Network.

Thanks for stopping in to learn more about Sprout, and me, it’s founder.  I am an eastern NC gal (Little Washington!) that relocated to the Triangle for my job at Duke University.  I wrangle software development by day, and tend donkeys and chickens and children in my down time. I am also a teacher and librarian (look forward to a local library folks!).  I love to cook and read and do yoga, and wish I had more time for all three.  Sprout is a creative outlet for me and one that satisfies a long held desire to run my own business. It offers me the opportunity to create a sensory learning environment for others, to serve a beautiful, authentic community, and to pour my energies into a sensible and sustainable lifestyle.  My goal is to create a fun, safe, and enriching experience for kids and their families. We hope you’ll join us!

Montana Keller-Guerra, Farm Director

I am the farm director and agricultural education brains behind our beautiful farm property. I was born and raised in a little town in Western NC (Burnsville), where I fell in love with wild flowers, the outdoors and growing food. I’ve spent many years studying horticulture, sustainable food systems, and  farm based education. I love sharing my passion for the outdoors and local food cultivation with my community. I hope to help spark enthusiasm about the importance of local foods, nature based learning, and being responsible stewards of the Earth.  Come experience the magic of our farm- we look forward to meeting you!
